“I can imagine all sorts of worlds and places, but I cannot imagine one without Ray Bradbury.”
I still very fondly and vividly remember the first time I read “There Will Come Soft Rains.” It is and always will be one of the most beautiful pieces of writing I have ever read.
Every time I think of your writing, I am filled with joy, excitement, and a little bit of sadness. Sadness because you knew how unfortunate life can be, and you filled your stories with saddening visions of humanity gone, or of the written word being a crime. Yet you weaved such stories in the most beautiful ways, full of life and detail, that it took some of the shock away and replaced it with an eagerness to live and to make sure that those futures are never what we fall into.
To me, you are the greatest writer. You are the greatest creator and your worlds will live on for so many more people even after you have left us.
Happy Birthday, Mr. Bradbury. And may you have many more.

"While our art cannot, as we wish it could, save us from wars, privation, envy, greed, old age, or death, it can revitalize us amidst it all."

It’s Ray Bradbury’s 91st birthday! I suppose I’ll spam the tag to celebrate!

“The good writers touch life often. The mediocre ones run a quick hand over her. The bad ones rape her and leave her for the flies.”

-Ray Bradbury

ray bradbury writers quotes
"Margot stood alone. She was a very frail girl who looked as if she had been lost in the rain for years and the rain had washed out the blue from her eyes and the red from her mouth and the yellow from her hair. She was an old photograph dusted from an album, whitened away, and if she spoke at all her voice would be a ghost. Now she stood, separate, staring at the rain and the loud wet world beyond the huge glass."
